Alms

• In Buddhism, alms or almsgiving is the respect given by a lay Buddhist to a Buddhist monk. It is not charity as presumed by Western interpreters. It is closer to a symbolic connection to the spiritual realm and to show humbleness and respect in the presence of the secular society.

 

Temples

• Visit the most historical temples in the centre of Chiang Mai.

 

Meditation

• Buddhists pursue meditation as part of the path toward liberation, awakening and nirvana. It includes a variety of meditation techniques, most notably, reflections on repulsiveness, reflection on dependent origination, mindfulness and recollections. Furthermore, it also includes breath meditation, developing an alert and luminous mind and the loving-kindness and compassion. These techniques aim to develop equanimity and mindfulness, concentration, tranquility and insight.

 

Doi Suthep

• Doi Suthep is a mountain in Chiang Mai and it is 1,676 metres (5,499 ft) in elevation and is also one of the twin peaks of a granite mountain. The other peak is known as Doi Pui. Doi Suthep is also the mountain where Doi Suthep Temple, one of the most popular temples in Chiang Mai, is located.

 

Khun Chang Kian

• Khun Chang Kian village is the place where White Hmong Hill Tribe live. Inside the village, visitor would see their lifestyles, local handicrafts, take photos, and get to taste coffee which are made with hand-spinning machines.
